ABOUT US
The Village of Monroeville operates an electric
utility providing electrical service to the village which lies generally
within the incorporated village limits. Bulk electric power is purchased
through the electric cooperative, AMP Ohio, at voltage of 138,000 and
72,000. Through a system of substations, distribution lines, and
transformers, the power is supplied to customers on demand at locations
and at voltages appropriate to their needs. The utility is also
responsible for the street lighting system.

Tree Trimming
If you have a problem with tree branches interfering
with power lines, please do NOT attempt to remedy the situation on your
own. Both the Village of Monroeville and Ohio Edison will come out and
trim tree branches away from power lines free of charge. Any
annoying tree branch is not worth a life!
If you are in the Village of Monroeville Division of
Electric service area, call (419)465-4149 or try the Utilities
Department at (419)465-2922 Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm
to make arrangements for an appointment. The Village will send an
experienced crew out to assess the situation and make arrangements to
have your trees trimmed.

Keep in mind that there are regulations placed on pruning Elm trees.
Under the Dutch Elm Disease Control Regulations and recommendations from
the Ohio Department of Agriculture, we are not allowed to trim Elm trees
between April 13 and July 31.
